BuildingThe committee coordinates labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need." If you are interested in joining this committee contact Dave Graves at (734)243-2048 ext.106 Building on Faith Taskforce CommitteeThe members of this taskforce are representatives appointed to serve on this committee by a church that wants to participate in the "Building on Faith" program. This is a new program for our local affiliate to further our ministry. The program is designed to secure churches to partner with us to provide the resources (labor & financial) to renovate this home to bring it up to the standards of a simple, decent and affordable home to be sold to a family in need. A church may partner by filling out a Letter of Support and appointing a representative. These members will serve in the capacity of promoting, leadership and encouragement at the congregational level for the resource efforts. The resource efforts necessary for the success of the program are: * Recruiting volunteers within the church they represent. * Promoting and supporting Habitat's Annual Golf Outing and Homes Sweet Homes fundraising efforts within the church. * Reporting activities and resources to the "Building on Faith" program committee. The committee is just now organizing so no set meeting schedule has been formed. For more information, please contact Kristin at (734)243-2048. Family SelectionThe committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity. For more information contact Debora at (734)243-2048 ext.113. Family PartnerWorks with families through sweat equity, home ownership education, home purchase process, adjustment to new responsibilities and continued partnership with the organization.
