The Habitat ReStore is a thrift store of home goods and building supplies open to the public. All the profits of the ReStore help to build Habitat homes in Monroe County.

Mary is a long-time resident of Bedford Township. She owned and paid off her home of over 30 years but when some unfortunate circumstances came her way, she ended up losing her home. Forced to find a place to live, the only thing she could do was rent a two-bedroom mobile home.  This provided many challenges as Mary is the foster parent to her three grandsons (ages 8-12) and as they grew, they quickly outgrew the space. In fact, DHS informed her that she could no longer have them all in the same room.

Habitat HOPE will be offering a two-part educational program on homeownership. This series will prepare participants with valuable information about the home buying process that will help them navigate the technicalities of purchasing a home and avoid costly mistakes. Participants will also receive information on state and federal programs available to assist in purchasing a home.


The classes will be held on Wednesday June 6 and 13 from 5:30-8:30PM at the Habitat for Humanity office, 14930 LaPlaisance Road, Suite 111, Monroe, MI 48161
